Squash Team 2016

Hi everyone, The Kent Squash League starts again in the next few weeks.(date not confirmed yet) The Elwick club will be entering a team as usual, captained by myself. (Gary H) Any players wishing to be involved in the team this year, here is some basic info and some steps you need to take to be eligible for selection. A squash team consists of 5 players ranked 1-5. 1 being the clubs strongest player. We play against other squash clubs, both Home and Away approximately once a week from October through April. Players face the other clubs opposing number. Eg. Our number 5 play their number 5. 4's play each other and so on... The finale of the evening is the number 1's match. 1 Point is scored for the team for every GAME a player wins in his/her match. The points from all matches are added together for the teams final score. The winning team is awarded 5 points for the overall MATCH WIN. After the match, both teams retire to the bar for a couple of drinks and dinner. Players are expected to pay subs each week of £12.50. (Home or Away) This covers hot food and 2 drinks each for you and your opposing number. Transport to away games is shared by players on a week by week basis. The standard of squash is fairly high, but I would encourage anybody who is interested to get involved. We may run a second team next year if there is enough interest. The team this year will be more of a 'Squad mentality' as we have a few regulars who want to play, but not every week. So this will be a good opportunity to get some Team Squash experience. If you think you may want to play you MUST: Register with englandsquash.com and get an ESR NUMBER. This will cost £11 for a year. Without this number, the Kent League website won't allow me to register you for the team. (Players from last season... Relax, I've got your numbers already sorted) Please can EVERYONE/ANYONE who wants to be involved this year, contact me ASAP so I can complete player registrations.
